19 October 2008
Icarus Darcy (owned by the stud) and Icarus Ryan (owned by Becky Lingard) went out to their first show, in support of the Irish Sport Horse classes at the Lancefield Agricultural Show. Icarus Ryan placed first in a strong lineup of yearlings (he was the only one unfortunately!) and this being his first outing ever, he behaved very well, displaying the calm temperament and lots of prior handling done by Becky. Icarus Darcy had trouble finding second gear, after being called in first by the judge in the led class, he decided he couldn’t possibly trot! So Darcy was placed 3rd. All in all it was a good show of Irish Horses, but there could have been lots more, and it would have been nice to see more youngstock coming out to support these classes, especially for the Irish.
