Icarus Park - Irish Draught Horses and Irish Sport Horses

Eireann Grania RID (imp NZ)

1999, 16hh    Pedigree

Grania is a purebred Irish Draught mare. She was bred in New Zealand, by Irishman, and ex-Master of the Scarteen Hunt (in Ireland) Thady Ryan. After a trip to New Zealand in 2002 to see her, she proved to be the quality required to become Icarus Park Stud’s foundation mare, and she was subsequently imported to Australia in early 2003.

Shortly after she arrived, she attended the 2003 Irish Draught and Sport Horse Annual Inspection Day and Show, where she passed her RID inspection, won her led class, and took out Supreme Champion Led Exhibit.

Grania is one of the first foal crop of her sire, Coalman’s Touch RID (Imp UK) in New Zealand. Coalman’s Touch, is by Touch of the Blues, who stands in the USA. Grania’s dam, Kilmanagh Banrion RID, was the first purebred Irish Draught mare to be imported to New Zealand by Thady and Ann Ryan in 1987.
