The Lancefield Equestrian Group with their team “Almost All Balls” (aptly named by Damien, as we had the only 2 stallions competing!) had a very successful team event at the TTT Horse Trials at Wandin. Our team placing was 3rd overall with only 0.45 the difference to 1st and 2nd. Thanks to the organisers for a great event, not easy with 350+ competitors!
Miesja and Frosty won their section on their dressage score with a clear cross country and a clear showjumping round. Damien and Tilly also won their section on their dressage score, and also with a double clear jumping rounds. Go Tilly!! Kerrie was first after the dressage on Jack Daniels, a lovely Welsh stallion, but had a stop at the tractor jump on the cross country (it was a pretty scary jump and Dan thought so too!). It was Jodie’s mare Spirit’s first Horse Trials and she did very well, at the age of only 4 years!
Needless to say we are over the moon with Frosty’s win, he is taking to jumping like a duck to water, having only started jumping a few months ago. Frosty also won the Best Performed Irish Sport Horse. The competition for this event was tough with quite a few entrants. The Irish Sport Horse mare, ‘Lily’ owned by Jane Parks of Mansfield also won her section, the winner was decided on a countback to lowest dressage score. GO IRISH!!!
