LARA Horse Trials - jumping in the wind and hail

On the way to Frosty’s first Horse Trials event (at 5am in the morning) I was listening to the radio in the car, ‘severe wind, hail and gale force winds in some parts of the state today – warning to stay inside and tie down movable objects.’ Great, this will be fun for our first Horse Trials event, not. Probably the most notable event of the day was when we were showjumping, the tiles on the brick wall blew off as we were about 3 strides out!! Luckily we had time to circle while the course was rebuilt, and represent for the fence, I could feel Frosty saying, um but that jump just moved in lots of different directions before mum, and now you want me to jump it!?? I said YEP, and he did, what a good boy. Clear cross country (his first xc ever!) on a slippery course, and 10th overall, bot a bad effort for our first time.
